Who wants to journey alone? In FlyFF, even when soloing, you're able to bring along cute and eccentric pets to keep you company!
There are three kinds of pets in the game: Pick-up Pets, Buff Pets and Raised pets.
Pick Up Pets, as their name suggests, are unique looking companions that will follow their master around and pick up their loot for them. There are dozens upon dozens of different types and designs, and there will definitely be one that appeals to each individual. Despite the enormous variety, Pick Up Pets are always loyal, and will always prove useful to the adventuring FlyFFer.
New to v15 however, are Buff Pets. At first glance they may seem to function exactly like Pick Up Pets - they follow their master around, picking up dropped loot from monsters. There is one key characteristic though that sets them apart. These special pets can be given magical beads that can be obtained from various masquerpets or bought from the cash shop. Doing so will enable the Buff Pet to provide their master with specialized and customizable buffs that will no doubt aid in any situation! Additionally, any existing Pick Up Pet can actually be transformed into a Buff Pet with a special item!
Now, Raised Pets are a bit different. These cute little critters will actually provide their masters with static buffs to specific character stats. They're incredibly useful, and make invaluable friends in your journeys.
There are six different types of raised pets: Tigers which provide bonuses to strength, Lions which provide bonuses to stamina, Rabbits which provide bonuses to dexterity, Foxes which provide bonuses to intelligence, Dragons which provide bonuses to attack power, Griffins which provide bonuses to defense, and Unicorns which provide bonuses to health.
Now, you might be asking, why are these pets called Raised Pets? Well, they're called that because it's up to you, the player, to hatch them, grow them and give them a good life!
Below, we've provided a basic rundown on Raised Pets and what it takes to own one!
Raising Pets
Eggs
Eggs can drop from any monster that is level 20 or higher. The probability of eggs dropping increases as your character's level increases. Eggs are tradable.
Hatching your Egg
Once you have an egg, go to the Pet Tamer in any of the major cities and accept the quest to hatch the egg. Double click the egg in your inventory to summon it, and then feed it Pet Feed to increase its Exp. Once the egg's Exp. reaches 99.99% return to the Pet Tamer to hatch the egg.
Making Pet Feed
Place certain quest items in the window and click Ok. The item will be converted into Pet Feed. The higher the level of the monster that dropped the item, the more Pet Feed it will create.
You must feed your pet constantly to keep it alive. Once your pet runs out of lives there is no way to revive it.
Feeding your Pet
Double-click Pet Feed to feed your Pet or your Egg. You can feed your pet/egg only after you have summoned it. You cannot feed your pet/egg more than 1,000 Pet Feed at once.
You can purchase a Feed Bag from the Premium Shop or from another player. This item will automatically feed your Pet any Pet Feed in your inventory.
Keep a close eye on your Pet's life meter. Its health will drop the entire time it is out.
Leveling your Pet
Your pet's level will increase over time as long as the pet is out and life remains. Each pet has 5 ranks. In ascending order they are: D, C, B, A and S.
